Reaching for the Stars

Three-dimensional | Sculpture | Papier-mache

This bust is made from solid papier-mâché and paper pulp,
and portrays a forest nymph reaching beyond the boundaries of her own world.

Her branch-like fingers stretch upward with quiet determination, as if she is reaching for the stars — not out of longing, but from a deep inner knowing that she belongs among them.

Painted in warm earth tones, vibrant greens, and deep reds, she embodies the harmony between nature and aspiration.
The ivy patterns on her arms symbolize growth and renewal, while the organic extensions in her hair reveal her connection to the forest that shaped her.

Along the elongated tips of her fingers, I have written English power words.
They blend into the colors of the ends, remaining only subtly visible —
like soft whispers of courage, direction, and inner strength.

She reminds us that even those who are rooted can rise, and that reaching for the stars begins with embracing the wild, powerful nature within.
